N\u00e9e le 15 mars 1660 en Picardie, elle incarne depuis son plus jeune \u00e2ge des attitudes et des comportements masculins, ce qui lui causera des distorsions avec sa famille. Quittant son foyer, Genevi\u00e8ve Pr\u00e9moy change d\u2019identit\u00e9 pour se faire appeler \u00ab\u00a0Chevalier Balthazar\u00a0\u00bb. <br \/>Ce pseudonyme lui a permis de se prot\u00e9ger et de fuir les violences familiales qu\u2019elle subissait. Ainsi, par sa transformation, elle int\u00e9grera le r\u00e9giment du Prince de Cond\u00e9.\u00a0<br \/>En 1677, apr\u00e8s quelques exercices sur les champs de bataille, cette femme-soldat f\u00fbt nomm\u00e9e lieutenant par le Mar\u00e9chal Lumi\u00e8re.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph {\"style\":{\"elements\":{\"link\":{\"color\":{\"text\":\"var:preset|color|background\"}}}},\"textColor\":\"background\"} --><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph {\"style\":{\"elements\":{\"link\":{\"color\":{\"text\":\"var:preset|color|background\"}}}},\"textColor\":\"background\"} --><\/p>\n<p>Malheureusement son secret f\u00fbt d\u00e9voil\u00e9 assez rapidement lors d\u2019une blessure au sein qui n\u00e9cessitait de la part du m\u00e9decin de la voir nue. Ainsi, en 1671, le roi de France Louis XIV prit connaissance de la nouvelle et l\u2019autorisa \u00e0 continuer ses activit\u00e9s. <br \/>Cet \u00e9pisode est un moment marquant de l\u2019histoire puisque cette d\u00e9cision de la part du souverain est \u00e0 l\u2019encontre de la pens\u00e9e traditionnelle. G\u00e9nevi\u00e8ve Pr\u00e9moy ne fut pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e qu\u2019\u00e0 Louis XIV lors d\u2019une visite \u00e0 son r\u00e9giment. Heureux et impressionn\u00e9 par sa pugnacit\u00e9, le roi de France l\u2019invita \u00e0 Versailles. <br \/><br \/>Durant ce s\u00e9jour, elle re\u00e7ut de nombreux pr\u00e9sents de sa part et obtint toute sa confiance. Le monarque \u00e9tait r\u00e9put\u00e9 pour r\u00e9compenser les hommes et les femmes qui souhaitaient combattre pour la France, m\u00eame si les femmes utilisaient ce syst\u00e8me pour pouvoir int\u00e9grer les r\u00e9giments. <br \/><br \/>Lors d\u2019une bataille de Pont d&rsquo;Atr\u00e9sin, Genevi\u00e8ve Pr\u00e9moy fut gravement bless\u00e9e. Le roi soleil ordonna \u00e0 ses hommes de la soigner dans un h\u00f4pital et paya l\u2019ensemble des frais, des soins prodigu\u00e9s \u00e0 la bless\u00e9e. Apr\u00e8s cet incident qui lui transper\u00e7a la totalit\u00e9 du corps, Genevi\u00e8ve Promoy resta hors des combats pour le reste de sa vie.
